Kari Campano, event designer, has been in event planning since 1984. A graduate of California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts Special Major Degree in Event Planning and Marketing, she also obtained education as an event designer through courses and seminars in floral design, theatrical production, set design, lighting, interior design, art and art history. Currently, she is working and studying to earn her designation as a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) through the International Special Events Society (ISES). Kari started her career in California with a small public relations firm as a special events coordinator. In 1988, she worked for a Young and Rubicam company on the KFC fast food account as the Southern California local store marketing event planner. During this time, Kari also was responsible for planning and executing the quarterly and annual meetings and events for the Southern California KFC Franchisee Association. In 1991, Kari continued her relationship with KFC through her own company Grand Events with partners John and Carol Saunders. In addition to KFC, Grand Events had many other corporate and private party clients. Today, Grand Events Los Angeles is one of the leading event planning and design firms in Southern California.
Kari relocated to the east coast in 1996 to assist her husband in establishing a marketing research field service for the entertainment industry. Currently, their firm coordinates over 100 private screening events each year for many of the major studios behalf of Nielsen NRG (National Research Group).
In January 2001, Kari established Grand Events East, a sister company of Grand Events Los Angeles, which works with both individual and corporate clients planning, designing, and coordinating meetings, parties and special events.
